Experienced administrator  - worked for Nat West and then Royal Bank of Scotland from 1973 until taking early retirement in 2009.

Subsequently employed by Worldpay (Card Payment Processing Company) until 2013.

Since 2014, I have worked for the Accounts team at Access Insurance - who specialise in provision of Insurance services for the Charity and 'Not for Profit' sector.

I have considerable experience in the charity sector having been Trustee of Teach Africa since 2010 and Trustee for New Life Church Biggin Hill since 2008. I regularly do voluntary work - working with schools in deprived areas of East London.

Steve Adams has been involved in the Cards Payment industry since joining the Joining Credit Card Company in 1973. Involved in most of the industry's innovations he was directly involved in the early Eft-Pos initiatives initially with the "Accept" programme at JCCCo. He joined NatWest in 1988 and was instrumental in the formation of Streamline and headed up the programme to in source processing from First Data, which completed successfully in 1994, which became Worldpay.

Leaving Nat West in 1999 as IT and Operations Director he took up a role in Barclaycard heading up IT and Operations initially in the merchant business leading ground breaking initiatives such as Chip and PIN. In the course of the eight years he spent at Barclaycard he acquired full IT and Operations responsibility as Global COO which by 2005 covered Cards and Lending businesses operating on 4 continents.

Leaving Barclays in 2008 he set up Go Beyond, initially as events sports company to support fundraising for the charity he set up in 2005, Teach Africa . This operated under trading name of Go Beyond Sport as a not for profit, which it still does today.

Currently, undergoing a training as a mentor after successful completing a mentorship program at Living Effectively Mentorship Program.
Although I have served as a leader in different capacities, my appointment to the SAF Board has enabled me to grow more maturely in leadership.
